Sunday October 19, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Hands-On Class: Homemade Drobe...Slovak Potato Sausage with Bill Lavery, Founder, Cooking with the Best Chefs: If the Slovaks have a comfort food, this is it! Learn to make a generations-old popular and tasty potato sausage that contains minced pork, ham, onion, bacon, a few spices, and lots of potatoes. You’ll stuff the casings and make 5 lbs. of your own sausage to take home to fry, bake, or freeze. This recipe has been in Bill’s family for generations, and is served at family and holiday events. You'll be making this dish for family and friends for years and years! This class is limited to 13 persons. $80 per non-member; $65 per member. Bring either a hand grinder or Kitchen Aid® with stuffing attachment, a paring knife, and 2 medium or one large plastic container(s) to take the cooked drobe home. Register by 10/12/08.
